bulletThe PitMaster wears a very expensive crimson and leather jacket with an inlayed checkered lining and silk sash about his waist.
bulletThis is an indication of his success in the commodities market.
bulletNotice, he continues to wear his old tattered inner coat, shirt and vest.
bulletThis is because he knows that the markets are very fickle and fleeting, and that someday he may lose his beautiful crimson coat and once again require his old tattered clothing.
bulletNotice the bandages wrapped around his ankles and knees.
bulletThese are bandages received in battle during exhaustive bull and bear markets.
bulletSee how he only has one shoe?
bulletThis is proof that what the market freely giveth, it can also quickly taketh away.
bulletHis long flowing beard and gray hair.
bulletThese are symbols of his great knowledge and expertise that only come from experience and long hours of reading and studying.
bulletNotice The PitMaster is a man of small stature.
bulletThis is indicative of his character. Even in his success, he never sees himself as someone to be looked up to or as a boastful individual but as a simple servant in your humble service. He remembers his past and where he came from, and never mocks those who have little and wish for more but only wishes to help them realize their dreams as he has realized his.

The PitMaster's Profile

1. Who is The PitMaster?

The PitMaster was the president of his own international computer communications corporation. He began his professional career as a full time Senate staff member in Washington DC. After completing four years of education at the University Level, he became a buyer of computer equipment for the US Navy and National Library of Medicine in Vienna, Virginia. After several years as a successful Federal Government Contracts Consultant, he began his own import/export computer communications firm. It was mid 1995 that he began paper trading using the John Murphy (Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets) commodity trading methodology. Because he so much enjoys trading the commodities market, it is for this reason that he started www.ThePitMaster.com.

January 1st, 2000, The PitMaster sold off his computer communications firm and decided to dedicate himself to trading the commodities market and to become the CEO of Gecko Software, Inc., a small software development firm dedicated to developing software for the financial industry.  He now works full time running this web site and overseeing the development of a number of financial applications with the markets as his focal point.

2. Why did The PitMaster start this www site?

After spending many hours reading and searching for information on the web regarding the trading methodology taught by John Murphy, he was unable to find any single cyber site that brought everything together in such a fashion that was appealing to the Murphy way of trading. Therefore he felt it was his duty and responsibility to help make it happen.

3. The PitMaster's Creed!

Keep it simple! Buy low, sell high, sell high, buy back low. Ignore all the other fluff and never try to scalp the market. If you'll follow these simple rules, you too will find success. Most importantly, learn to finesse the market. (If you don't know what this means, you have not yet been trading long enough.)

4. The PitMaster's by-line.

I, The PitMaster, do not claim to be some fantastic, all knowing guru trader, I am a very young 40 year old trader. I have been, what I consider to be, successful at trading the market. I have surrounded myself with a staff of fantastic, well educated and successful individuals with proven track records, to whom I turn to for help on a daily basis. Anything you hear me say, please take with a grain of salt and please make your own decisions.
