Thank you for all your letters and comments, we have only had our www site up for such a short amount of time and the e-mail is positively overwhelming. I am going to try and post many of the best e-mail messages here for you to see what other members are saying. -- The PitMaster
PitMaster, I really am impressed with the program. I am a
"new" trader. Been somewhat
Hi Folks,
Dear Pitmaster,
I wanted to send you an e-mail and thank you for the wonderful
information you post on your site. I just ordered the Gecko chart
software, and look forward to its arrival.
I also wanted to share a little bit of my story in the hopes
that it will help a lot of your readers. There is no substitute for
experience, and I hope mine will shed some light for others. I too was a
TWMPMM1 course member, loved everything about it, still do, was really excited
to get started, but took my time, studied, paper traded, read other things,
bought Ken's videos, got his charting service, etc. etc. I consider
myself a smart guy, and felt I was really ready, after continually making
money paper trading. Opened an account with $3,000 and got started.
I quickly realized that the reality of trading is much
different than any one can imagine. When no money is involved, your mind
doesn't begin to whirl and make the myriad of calculations that it
does once you actually are plunking down your own hard earned money. If
I was up $2,000 then I thought to myself if I buy 2 more contracts and it goes
up another couple of points, I'll have $5,000. Good old fashioned greed. While
I started all trades with Ken's basic principles, they were soon thrown out
the window, as I personally tried to tweak them to maximize profit for
myself. A $1,000 profit wasn't good enough on a $600 investment, it
should be more. In the end, my hubris and arrogance always lost out to the
market, eventually to the tune of around $10,000. I don't blame anyone but
myself, and over the past year I've sat in the corner licking my wounds,
waiting for the time that I can begin again, but this time correctly.
I looked back at most of my previous trades, and it was an
interesting thing that I learned. I was right on almost every
single one!!! The market went where I predicted, I made money on each trade,
I just could not get out at the right time. I would flinch when it
went against me, I would try to squeeze every nickel I could. So please,
whomever may be reading this, take your profits!! Don't be shy. It
is not difficult to make 50-100% on your investment, because of the incredible
leverage that is involved. Can anyone do the calculation for
50-100% return on equity on an annual basis, year after year.
I have several pieces of advice for those that are thinking
about jumping in, for those that are already in, or for those that have been
hurt (as I was) and want to try again.
1) Take your profits! My dad always said you can't
go broke taking a profit.
2) If that little voice in your head starts giving you
mixed signals, shut him off, look at your charts and use the very simple
techniques that Ken has taught us. But remember rule #1.
3) Don't try to be smarter than the market, it will
always win if you do. Take your little piece out of it, and let it grow
for you.

PitMaster, I certainly appreciate that you have the old fashioned ethic of making sure you are satisfied before the product ships. The automatic update feature is phenomenal, especially if it is seamless (happens without our knowing it.) My experience with you started at the PitMaster website, and everything there and what I purchased has been first class. The fact that you are willing to give folks 30 days after TnT comes out to return it for a refund of what was paid is virtually unheard of in commerce today. I know the expense you will absorb to accomplish this and I am in awe of a man who will do that. Sure, V 1.0 had bugs in it, but if my house were to burn down, I'd buy another copy awaiting the next release. It's real nice knowing that the owner of Gecko Software is an active commodities trader. You know what we need. You have already provided tools I didn't know I needed, but they have become valuable components of my market evaluations prior to placing a trade. Thanks for all that you do, for the perseverance to hold the product until it meets your standards, and for the leadership of the Gecko Software team. It's obvious you are an uncommon man. Charles
Although mere words will fail to express the actual depth of my gratitude, it is only appropriate that I send you this message, and endeavor to permit a few words to take my intentions as far as possible. I have watched the development of your WWW Site from its humble, enthusiastic beginnings and noted the recent refinements and expected new directions for the future.' I consider your project to be an extraordinarily generous contribution to the on-line community of student commodity traders. As a member of this community, I am extremely grateful to you and your dedicated staff members. I obtained the TWMPMM I Course about a year ago; ordered a subscription to U.S. Charts; obtained daily delivery of a newspaper that publishes reports on the Commodity Markets, and have been studying the behavior of the Markets ever since. It soon became apparent to me that there was going to be a lot more to the art of trading than learning to recognize 1-2-3 tops/bottoms, 50% retracements and narrow, sideways channels. Last winter, I bought a live copy of Track 'n Trade and, as per your recommended Library/Reading List, I have recently purchased the Murphy texts on Technical Analysis, and the Caplan text on Options. I've been involved with what I consider serious, committed paper trading since last October. At this point, I think I need about another full 18 months of paper trading experience. I have had very nice support from the staff at Great Pacific Trading Company and I expect to choose their services, when and if I ever get to the stage of opening a Commodity Trading Account. I now regard the Roberts Course to be a good introduction to the idea of making money in trading commodity contracts and options. However, I also regard it to be lacking what I consider to be the solid intermediate and advanced levels of understanding that a person should probably obtain before committing actual dollars to the project. Certainly, one can choose to extend the TWMPMM I Course and receive the monthly newsletters indefinitely, and/or take the TWMPMM II course on options; purchase the video collections, etc. And perhaps I'm just way old - fashioned and on the extreme end of the conservative scale, but I believe that the TWMPMM I Course falls a little short (no pun intended) on delivering everything one needs to know about beginning to successfully trade commodity contracts. Obviously, there are large numbers of people, (some of them Ken Roberts students), believing that after opening an account with a Broker, they get permanently rich fast with minimum effort. Brokers are scouting for those fools and taking their money as fast as they can. I regard Track 'n Trade to be a very valuable resource and eagerly look forward to any and all improvements and updates to the software. The ability to get daily prices every afternoon, after the markets close, is an excellent benefit to owners of the package. I regard the recommended texts which I have recently obtained to be of very high quality. At the stage I presently find myself (still wearing training wheels), these books seem to provide those intermediate and advanced levels I mentioned above. In summary, I don't believe that I would be as well equipped a student as I presently am, if it wasn't for some of the information I found freely available on your WWW Site, (admittedly after becoming a Ken Roberts Company Student). Please accept my humble thanks and pass this along to your excellent staff members. Very Respectfully Yours,
Dear Pitmaster, I am happy that I found your website. I received the TWMPMM a few months ago. I have searched the web in search of the "meat & potatoes" of futures trading. You have put together a great site. I am looking forward visiting often. I look forward to a long and successful trading career. Thanks for the best trading site on the web. Yours Truly,
Dear Pitmaster, Thanks again for your wonderful site. It is much appreciated. You are the greatest. Thank you. I hope I can some day pay you in some way for all the help and inspiration your site has given me. I have met several traders from your pit club board and we have been corresponding for the last few weeks. We cant say enough about how much youve helped us. I doubt you even know just how much. Thanks Sincerely,
PitMaster Super great web site; thanks thanks thanks. Futures folks are great folks, yes they are. Probably the most truly helpful site I have found dealing with the futures so far. Thanks
PitMaster, The Alert Line on your site is the most important feature of the site. Don't get me wrong, you've done a great job providing lots of very helpful information to all beginning and novice traders. We need an Alert Line....or a "Grapevine".....you know... I heard it through the grapevine. The Pitmaster's Grapevine would be a way to get around the legalities of the Alert Line. Ken isn't the only one who can read charts. We need this as a matter of convenience. Please consider. David P.S. Be sure to check with your attorney first. You wouldn't want Marvin Gaye's lawyers calling you next.
Thanks for handling this matter in the professional manner in which you did. I'm proud and pleased. Being a Ken Course Member since last year and still paper trading, because I got started late, I am very impressed with your efforts regarding this project. Please keep me posted concerning the changes. K9
PitMaster, Let me commend you guys on the finest piece of trading software I have ever seen. In order to qualify that statement let me say that I have Metastock and Ira Epstein charting software with a total expenditure of about $450.00. Although they worked O.K., they always left me saying I wish they had this or did that. I saw your Track 'n Trade on your www page and was impressed with the description. I received the software tonight and in 30 min. was paper trading contracts. Everywhere I explore on my new software I say WOW...WOW....WOOOWWW!!!! It almost seems like you read my mind when creating this software. Let me tell you that this software and very well written manual would be a steal at twice the price. I am proud to say that I am a proud Track 'n Trade owner! Robert H.

Dear PitMaster, I can't believe you replied to my e-mail so quick. Thanks! I had to look up the word 'accolade', it's a great word! Please understand my sense of humor about the adult talk. It's actually pretty funny, I was not expecting it so it made me giggle (a man would have chuckled) more then anything. Brian and I (who are newlyweds, I might add) have been so engrossed in commodities the past five months learning, absorbing, figuring, trading, reading, calculating, looking at charts, charts and more charts...get my drift??? I only got to browse through you site for about ten minutes, but now that I know it's there, I will of course take advantage of all aspects of it I can, along with total support of your hard work and dedication to put it together. We are all alone in this venture, and of course we get nothing more from most people than "You can lose your shirts (or house) in Commodities" blah blah blah...We are both temp employee's at Signet Financial Services (which was bought out by First Union) in downtown Richmond (our office over looks the state Capital) and we work with brokers, traders, and customer service reps for Signet's mutual fund department. Here we are, thrown right in with the wolves that treat the word commodities like the plague! What? we don't have a degree, how can we know so much...? one of the broker's e-mailed me- "losing your ass in the markets, yet?" that gave me the right to give my 'Go Commodities' speech (which he told me sounded like an infomercial) but the end result was, he asked for a brochure for Ken's course, and after reading that and a Newsletter from Great Pacific Trading about El Nino (everyone that's anyone to us got a copy of that from us) he is ordering the course! Yes, it made us feel good...gives us confidence in our own common sense. So, what was I saying? I'm sorry, you happen to be our first real one on one contact we've had with another commodity lover, we always talk about the day we meet Ken and Mary and can tell them our story (and we know we will, it's on our "To-Do" list) but until that day comes, I thank you for enduring. I will shower you with praises all you want if we can talk commodities with ya'. We are moving to Connecticut in February, Virginia was merely a stop off (we moved here from Arizona 3 yrs ago) to save money and receive Ken's brochure...I'm really a California native and Brian is from Connecticut. Virginia is pretty, the people are 'iffy', but we enjoyed the stop off. Ok, I think I am done for the time being. Time to cruise around your site...It's going to be a great New Year!!! Bye!!! Carrie in Virginia
Kudos on your site, your efforts are appreciated! I started the TWMPMM course in mid-October and finding your site has erased any doubts I had. Just knowing that there are people with the same questions that I have, and knowing that these same people have had success means a lot. I definitely plan on sharing any helpful knowledge with new students as I become successful in my trading activities. Your www site has helped greatly. I will be using one of the recommended brokers (I should have an account opened by the end of the year) and will be purchasing Track 'n Tradde in order to support the site. CONGRATULATIONS on getting Ken's attention. I can't wait to see how it goes. Keep up the great work.
thanks for the web site. well done. Here is some food for thought. I enrolled in Ken's course august of 96. Paper traded until December and did real well doubling my money on paper. Started trading with real money the first of this year. started with $3000.00 had my account up to $7200.00 by the middle of May. By the end of October my account was down to less then $200.00. Once I started making money, I started doing the things Ken warned not to do. I was guessing the market, not waiting for the formation to develop. Trading to often. As I was losing I lost more trying to avoid losses. You can not paper trade to much. Stopped trading in October and reread the manual several times, until I found the mistakes I was making. Started back with real money the middle of November. Making about $500.00 a week now. My advise is to keep going over the manual and do what Ken teaches and you will make money. I Used Main Street Trading until November. Nice People and very helpful. Fills a little slow. Now using Jack Carl futures. lower commission. They are a clearing broker so fill in a matter of 1 or 2 minuets. Nice people and very helpful. Could use the discount desk for even less commission but not ready for that. Having a ball and enjoying this very much. Good trading to all Joe
Hi there, I was pleased to find a web site that has KR course members. I've been paper trading for some time, and couldn't wait to do it for real. My first trade netted about $380 in two (2) day's, not bad for tying up $540 for a couple of day's. Although, to be fair I didn't do that well with my first encounter in OJ back 1 Oct, it went limit down one day and wiped out my margin account with OJ. It was an expensive lesson, but in retrospect it was well spent money. I've learned that you ought not to put your stop/loss point to close behind, only when your ready to get (take profits) out follow your stop real close. Ray
Yours in success, Tony Lopez
Good job! Gregg
If you recall the message that Ken sent with the course was simply this. You don't need him or anything affiliated with him after you learn the basics. and that's it don't renew in the course by nothing else live and learn don't be foolish. Did you think he wasn't a peddler were all peddlers of some kind, right. but he was honest he said if you do the work you don't need to by another thing from him so don't. my god he can't hold your hand from Grants Pass. I read I learned I went Out on my own and I have not looked back. If you know what your doing Then...... you know what your doing . Don't act like your a player in the N.B.A. grown up trash mail is trash mail. Ken Roberts is not a Saint he wrote a book to make money but if you learned what you were supposed to than your making money thank him and move on. I thank him for wanting to make money off of me because it changed my way of thinking and working. So in six more years I will be living on a boat in Florida and finding out if Jimmy Buffet is right. Your welcome aboard and my book will be published soon. It is called the worlds most powerful manual. How I got rich by doing only what I had to do and let the others complain. From a loyal but independent believer in Ken Roberts UNCLE BUBBA 7 SEE YA!
Thank you for the site. I have been paper trading for about two months and feel that I have finally found someone who has taught me a very real way to make money. I agree with everything you say about Ken. Also, your site is a great place to come together for encouragement and information. Keep up the good work. The one thing that really became clear after I started paper trading was that it's just exactly like Ken said it would be. I've made about $2000 on paper and it worked just like Ken said it would. Now that I'm watching the charts I see these formations doing the same thing over and over again, and I see opportunity over and over again. I am amazed that it's just that simple. Thanks again, Dave
PitMaster: As a small business owner I'll be happy to "assist" as I can. Big expense, no. Putting in my share of your effort, yes, because it looks as if you are doing a lot of work. I own a successful print shop for 19 years. I had 4 stores but have sold all but this one and it will be sold to the person who now manages it within the next few months. I also teach at the local university in entrepreneurship, and in that vein I'll probably use some of Ken's stuff this next semester as an example of a unique one person business. If your advertisers do come through as you hope, what all will you be able to do? and at what point do you feel Ken will become more than an interested spectator? Chris
PitMaster, So far we have had great success paper trading and we have even placed some active trades in an October sugar contract. We made a profit, although since it was our first real trade, we chickened out and got out of the contract way to early. (we only made about $180 instead of a possible $1000 + .) So I like to think that his system definitely works! What do you know about the TWMPMM II? I know that it discusses options, which we are definitely interested in. Thanks again for the info!
PitMaster My boyfriend and I bought Ken Roberts TWMPMM and so far we are pleased with what he is trying to teach us. I'm waiting to receive some money from a law suit which I am planning to invest about $10,000 in the commodities market. I like the way your website is presented and lists some brokerage firms that support his course. There aren't many brokerage firms (that I've already talked to) that support his method of teaching about the commodities market and how to profit from it. I would rather do business with someone that supports his method of teaching. I'm also glad to hear that you and others have had success stories and have made money at this market that you have learned from the information presented in his course. Diana
Hey There PitMaster! I was just searching to see if Ken Roberts had his own web page and I found yours. I think I used Excites search engine. I've looked several times over the past few months for Ken's page just in case he started one and I found yours! I'll be coming back, probably daily. I'm still new at this and only paper trade because I'm a college student and have zero $$$'s. -Bob
PitMaster, I just wanted to write to you and thank you for this website. Like so many others out there when I looked up Ken Roberts on the internet and usenet a lot of what I found was negative. However, after spending over six hours reading everything available about him and his courses I came to the conclusion that most of the people criticizing him had no real basis in fact or experience. That's not to say that all of his critics were inexperienced with his course. Some were, but I wonder just how many of those disgruntled former course members actually followed his methods wholeheartedly and how many of them simply let their own arrogance get in the way. On the other hand I found that most of his supporters (and there are actually many more of them!) had followed his course materials with open minds and didn't blame him for their own stupid mistakes. If they made mistakes they learned from the experience then continued on. Also I have not seen anyone claim or bolster that Ken Roberts had made them rich overnight. Instead most of his supporters seem to be genuinely intelligent people, though not perfect, who have made definite attempts and succeeded. In time I'm sure they will be successful and quite wealthy and will probably not find the need to hold their accomplishments over the heads of others. Quite to the contrary though, like many people are with other things in life, it seems that those negative people out there seem to flourish by pissing on others. To them I can only say "BUGGER OFF!". Of particular note I have to mention my opinion on one specific issue. Many have said that Ken makes most of his money on the sale of his courses rather than on commodities. Although this may be true it wasn't always like that. At one time he did make most of his money from commodities but Ken understand the REAL value of "richness" now. He understands that true success and satisfaction comes from helping others, not only financially but also mentally and spiritually. He simply found a way to both make money and help others. In reality he is simply exercising a simple principle he explained in the beginning of the TWMPMM I course book. Course members should remember the story about the lady and her cookies. Thanks.
Dear Pitmaster, I have really enjoyed reading you info. I became a TWMPMM course member back in June(97). It finally sank into my head and I discovered that I was trying to make things too hard!! Paper trading has been a real help. I have made over $5,000 on paper. Just now I have saved enough $$$$ to open an account, but am pondering which brokerage to use...Great Pacific sounds really good. Would love to hear from others who are trading with real money. It would encourage many of us.....Ben
Dear Webmaster: Im so elated to have discovered your Web page. Great job! Ive been paper trading for about 6 months. During that time Ive done rather well and recently started trading with real money. My question involves taxes. At what point in time do you pay taxes on the profits in your account? When you take the profits from the account? Never, if you dont take profits and just let it build? In April? Please advise. As a point of interest I also wanted to mention when I decided to start trading real money I opened up two brokerage accounts. One with Jack Carl Futures who was recommended to me by a friend and fellow TWMPMM course member (he also got tired of Main Streets high commissions and switched) and one with LFG (Linnco Futures Group). Thanks,
Dear Pitmaster, I just found your website today... this only added to my excitement about commodities trading. I am a TWMPMM I course member. I've been a member for several months and just placed my first real trades a few weeks ago. My first real obstacle in Ken's trading course was setting up my paper trading system. Everything I tried seemed such an arduous task unless I wanted to spend more money to buy a charting subscription. I searched the internet for help. That is when I found the Track 'n Trade software package. I bought the package and was drawing 1-2-3's on current charts within hours!! I highly recommend the software. Now that I am trading real money! I have found that right before a major agricultural report comes out, the market seems to plunge to a new low or rocket to a new high. Based on the report, the market surges higher or lower the next day. Because of this, I still like to read the report before I post a position in the market. If anyone is interested in reading these reports, the USDA has a website where these reports are posted. You can get the report at the same time everyone else gets it (sometimes before the exchanges even open.) If there is a bumper crop in orange juice announced in this report, I do not want to be sitting in a long position. The website is www.usda.gov. They even post a calendar telling you when each report will be released. As a final note regarding the Ken Robert's course... I thought the course was great! If you don't get it the first time through, just re-read it and re-read it until it clicks. It is really quite simple when the light comes on. And... IT IS FUN!! I haven't made any money yet but I think my biggest problem is I don't have enough money in my account to spread out. I started with $4,000 but I hope to add another $5,000 or $6,000 in the very near future. There are lots of markets I would like to be in right now. My account is with Main Street Trading (Ken's trading company.) Personally, I think they are way over-priced in their commissions ($95 roundturn) and I will probably be switching brokerage firms in the very near future. I would like to see what other trader's are doing and please share any winning or losing trades you may have made and share any lessons learned!! Donna
PitMaster, Well, I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase the course and learn from Ken. I really appreciate your feedback. It means a lot to me. I read Ken's pamphlet today for the fifth time and it seems to really make sense. I looked at the commodities today and try to put his example to use, and it really made sense. As for last Friday when you were purchasing your cattle contract I was working in a job that I do not like, making lousy money. I truly believe I can do it. As far as the programs I have done in the past (mail order venture) I didn't give up. I kept at it for months staying up until two or three in the morning and got nowhere and felt like you know what when it was time to get up for work the next day. This truly does look exciting and something in which I can finally do something I enjoy and spend some time with my family. I'm in my thirties and there has got to be a better way! I hope this leads to a great new life. Sorry to take up so much of your time. Thanks again Pitmaster, you have been helpful. Anthony
PitMaster, I've entered your web site and was pleased with what I saw. I'm a novice and Ken Robert's course member, both in futures and options. I tend to focus on options, purely from a more conservative approach to trading. Though, I have not actually traded "real" money, I do paper trade. I hope your stay with the web and wish you the best. Rick
PitMaster, I just wanted to let anyone who was thinking about signing up for the course that I think it is a very good idea. It is not a get rich quick scheme as you can make money trading on paper before real money. So you can say to yourself, "IF I did this with real money, I would have been successful" You realize you say that a lot more than being unsuccessful. Also the chart formations and tactics you read about on this WEB page seem to make it a lot more complicated than it really is. Don't be discouraged, and get into it. It will be one of the best things you ever do. One more thing. You must keep an attitude about it that you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL. You CANNOT be a skeptic, go head first with 100% of your efforts. This statement really applies to the TWMPMM course as well as everything else in your life. If you want to leave me E-Mail to discuss TWMPMM or anything else. matty b
Pitmaster, I got your address from the web site. It's amazing how many useless hits pop up when you search for 'Ken Roberts' on the net! I'm glad I finally stumbled into your web site. Vince.
Pitmaster, Nice web page...I'm a TWMPMM student (member?..:), and I agree with you about brokers who slam KR's courses, then peddle their "better trading systems"... I had one guy say that KR's courses weren't good because "He sets his stop losses too far behind"...which doesn't sound "too far" behind to me, because, just using his principles outlined in the twmpmm manual, I paper-traded and made close to 100k in about 9 months (this starting with an "account" of $5,000, and is minus the commission costs ($50/contract), but doesn't count slippage that MIGHT have occurred) ..with most of the money from that huge sum coming from the coffee prices back in November of last year, as well as my liking for risk and doing massive pyramiding on almost every trade I got into. But, nevertheless, I still did pretty damn well, and without the guru brokers, and other misc. crap. I'm glad you put this web page up, because there is a TON of negative press on the web about KR's. Joey
PitMaster, Hey great idea to have a twmpmm page. I just started the course in Sept. and have been paper trading since then. Would like to see more of the twmpmm links up and running, but the text is so small it is pretty hard to read. Would love to hear from members how successful they have been and how the course compares to other techniques. The 1-2-3 pattern almost seems too simple! It also seems that everyone is trying to trade these same breakouts. Keep up the good work
